Gerard Kopek

“A line is comprised as an infinite series of points in a row. A point has no length, width, or height. If a point has no dimension, can a line exist as an infinite

number of points?”

Focusing on the purest of formulas, Gerard considers making “art” a craft which is executed using clear and formal rules which must relate and always refer to his social reality. His pieces do not always reference recognizable form. The results are deconstructed to the extent that the meaning is shifted and possible interpretation becomes multifaceted. Choosing chaotic mathematical formulae, he tries to develop forms that do not follow logical criteria, but are based only on subjective associations and formal parallels, which invite the viewer to make new personal associations.

“Can a line be imagined in reality, or does it exist only as a concept in the mind?”
